Position Summary

The Housekeeping Manager at Best Western Apalach Inn will oversee all aspects of our housekeeping operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. You will be responsible for supervising and training a team of room attendants and laundry personnel, ensuring that all guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas are impeccably maintained. The Housekeeping Manager will also manage inventory, respond to guest concerns, and work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
  • Hire, train, schedule, and manage housekeeping staff including room attendants and laundry personnel
  • Conduct regular room and property inspections to ensure cleanliness standards and brand expectations are met
  • Monitor and control inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities; place orders as needed
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and concerns related to housekeeping services
  • Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, and safety regulations at all times
  • Collaborate with front desk and maintenance teams to ensure timely room turnovers and maintenance issue resolution
  • Maintain clear and accurate records for inspections, lost & found, staff performance, and supply usage
  • Lead by example with a hands-on approach, stepping in to assist with cleaning duties during high-volume periods
  • Enforce company policies and procedures, administering disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Foster a positive team environment focused on guest satisfaction, efficiency, and accountability
Qualifications
  • 1 year of some kind of management experience
  • Previous experience in a housekeeping role, preferably within the hospitality industry, is preferred; however, we will train the right applicant.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Able to frequently bend, reach, balance, and push or lift up to 20 pounds during shift.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and familiarity with cleaning products and equipment
Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Compensation: $16 - 18
