Glacier International Lodge (The Gil) | Kalispell, Montana Full-Time Management Position
Glacier International Lodge is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on
Housekeeping Manager to lead our housekeeping department. We are looking for a strong leader who takes pride in exceptional cleanliness, understands hotel operations, and knows how to build a productive and positive team.
The Housekeeping Manager plays a critical role in our guests' experience and is responsible for ensuring our guest rooms and public areas consistently meet the high standards expected at The Gil.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, train, and motivate the housekeeping and laundry teams
- Manage daily housekeeping operations and room assignments
- Create employee schedules based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, and business needs
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards
- Ensure rooms are completed efficiently and released to the Front Desk on time
- Monitor housekeeping productivity and room-cleaning times while maintaining quality
- Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop housekeeping employees
- Address employee performance and attendance concerns promptly and professionally
- Maintain appropriate linen, terry, guest supply, and cleaning-product inventories
- Monitor inventory usage, waste, and departmental expenses
- Coordinate closely with the Front Desk and Maintenance departments regarding room status and maintenance needs
- Manage lost-and-found procedures
- Maintain safety, sanitation, chemical-handling, and housekeeping standards
- Assist with room cleaning, inspections, laundry, or other departmental duties when business levels require it
- Help establish and maintain department procedures, checklists, and accountability standards
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a
hands-on leader. This position requires someone who can organize the department, hold the team accountable, recognize great performance, and step in to help when needed.
Candidates should have previous hotel housekeeping experience, with
supervisory or management experience strongly preferred . Strong organizational, communication, scheduling, and problem-solving skills are essential.
You should also be comfortable working in a fast-paced hotel environment where priorities can change quickly based on occupancy and guest needs.
Schedule & Availability
This is a
full-time management position requiring scheduling flexibility.
Weekend and holiday availability is required , as these are important operating days for the hotel.
